SC, It depends. Some exchanges are real fast, moments, others (Pacific, especially) can be slow. A market order, or hitting the ask on these, usually are within a minute, but I have had problems w/ CPQ, TLAB and Dell. You get a feel for how it works, and if you call the broker to make a trade, and the option trades on different exchanges, you can request the exchange that offers quicker reports. I would reccommend you get a listing of where the various options trade to help you with your planning.
