These end of the year/beginning of the year rallies in the Miners keep on getting smaller and smaller. The September High has yet to be taken out on a closing basis. And that is when the S&P was about 20% higher.
Bull markets begin with a vengeance with rip roaring gains initially. In 2016, as I am sure you are aware the Miners rose over 10% in 2 days and were up close to 20% in a little over a week's time. The Miners had become a safe haven play here and the Market wasn't going to continue to fall 2% every day.
As for my trade today, it's only a one day affair via Dust. I will do it again if the Miners rise agsin to September resistance, which I expect they will.
Bottom line: if this was the start of something substantial, bullishly speaking, we would not see selling come into play at the first sign of a rally.
