Re: playing against the house:

From "TA Explained", by Pring:

Human nature remains more or less constant and tends to react to similar situations in consistent ways. Technical analysis therefore is based on the assumption that people will continue to make the same mistakes they have made in the past......different groups of investors are consistent in their actions at major market turning points. For example, insiders (key employees or major stockholders of a company) and NYSE members as a group have a tendency to be correct at market turning points.........Conversely, advisory services as a group are often wrong at market turning points........the consensus or majority opinion is normally wrong at market turning points.

BB,

Great...better yet, OUTSTANDING discourse. I couldn't have said it any better. This is why after a long "Lurking" period, I joined SI...it is a great weapon we have here, when used effectively.

I am also thankful for the help from all of you guys and I hope in the future, I may be able to impart some of my investment ideas once I've run it through the wringer.

Regards,

SF

BB, there isn't a word in your post I cannot agree with. Scary <G>.
I especially liked...

>Ultimately, we will win, but
only after numerous pitched "battles" against a bigger, better
armed "foe" with superior resources. We will be bloodied, scarred,
and humbled, but inevitably we will hold our heads high and be
victorious!!!!

Winston Churchill had nothing on you. Where do I sign up? <vbG>
