Graham Osborn.

You say,

"10 years is totally arbitrary. The relevant question is whether your holding period is long enough to return the principal on the investment."

It seems to me it became fixed though when you said, "When I buy a stock I typically plan to hold for 10 years, "

Doesn't that mean you are typically seeking stocks that you can hold for ten years?

So typically, most of the stocks Dr Graham would've recommended holding for two or three years would not be of particular interest to you?
