Steve,
Thanks for your response over Compaq thread.
I am worried about my CPQ '99 80 LEAP(VKPAP) right now. On Oct. 16 I bought 20 VKPAP @17.5 after I closed out some INTC LEAPs. The CPQ share price has been falling since then. Now VKPAP bid price is 6.00. There will be earnings and split next week. I am wondering what the best strategy for me is now. Since three major techs(MSFT, CPQ, TXN) will announce earnings next Wednesday, short term I expect the market will have a rally until Thursday.(if those earnings are good) There are two possible scenarios for me: 1) Close out the VKPAP on Thursday or Friday then roll over to 2000 80 LEAP(LKPAP) later. 2) If the earnings is really good, keep the VKPAP a little longer. The LEAP premium, however, will start deteriorating rapidly 9 months before the expiration. I don't know how much chance I would have in either case. In addition, what will be the stock price prediction for the near term, mid year and the remaining of the year? I need to figure out the best timing to do the roll over.

Your opinion will be deeply appreciated.
Thanks in advance to help me to get out of the trouble.

P.S. 2001 LEAP will be available in July. Right?
