Jim K, I've been following the thread closely for the last few months but business pressures haven't allowed me to contribute in any meaningful way. Besides the Candlestick fiasco in August left a sour taste in my mouth & the overall tone is only now starting to improve. It would be great if SI would limit the number of daily or weekly postings per member.

I had an excellent year in 1997 thanks to DELL and 1998 looks to be equally good. I have modified my investment strategy since I expect the market to remain extremely volatile in 1998. I'm holding exclusively 1999 & year 2000 in the money DELL leaps. This should limit the rolaids use this year.

in particular paragraph 3 where it states " 70% of all those likely to buy a pc...more than $1250...38% more than $2000."

This is consistent with the data coming from the retail channel - the sub $1000 has & is continuing to draw the crowds into the stores but once in these same customers are trading up to higher priced pc's.
