Food Basics should throw the people returning the food into the trash instead of the food. Idiotically lenient return policies for which we, the “normal” customers, pay for.

I had a chat about "expired / not so nice looking" food a while back with a Sobeys manager. According to him they would love to donate the food they throw out daily but existing laws make this virtually impossible (liability issues).

BTW, expiry dates are set well before food would present any risk.
