TRIN: I wish I knew cause I would appear to be a genius, but I don't. hey check this out: I post a really funny (it is REALLY funny] letter to Bill Gates [at least that's my guess, I assume no responsibility] on the msft thread and NOBODY GETS IT!! I figure it's Saturday and they can use a bit of levity, but no. Those guys are SERIOUS. They need some cider.

Glenn, here is the TRIN or Arm's index:

TRIN measures volume flows, a reading > 1 indicates more volume in declining issues, 1 is neutral, < 1 means more volume in advancing issues
TRIN = (DV/DI)/(AV/AI)
with
DI = # of declining issues
DV = decling volume
AI = # of advancing issues
AV = advancing volume

FWIW, at Quote.com, TRIN is $TRIN.X, VIX (Volatility Index) is $VIX.X, etc.
