Being born in the US, their children acquire US citizenship which they might find useful later in life.

Given Chinese society I'm sure it's also status and conspicuous consumption to deal with their insecurity.

It's the force that drives Chinese to constantly take photos of their food and make vulgar noises as they eat, as if anyone else cares what they ate today or how much their noisy slurping mouth is dealing with it.

Just as it has driven them to take photos of luxury goods splayed-out - with or without a luxury car.

This is, needless to say, bizarre and vulgar to those outside their culture.
