Respond to of 9756 My vote is for a mulligan: 1. I don't recall ever seeing the note at the bottom of the entry (I've highlighted this in red for emphasis, below), perhaps because the rest of the text is long enough that I would've had to scroll down to see it. 2. This is a friendly contest. There are no fingers to point ... communications issues happen ... Jim has been doing this a long time, and a friendly contest can be hard to manage as successfully as he has in a place where hardly any of us have actually met each other ... I feel especially fortunate to have recently become an exception. Heck, I don't follow the guideline for how to title my entry pretty much every single week, and I've never been called on that, but has it made Jim's task more difficult (Jim, please do not hesitate to let me know if the answer is yes)? 3. Not knowing (or maybe I knew it once but forgot) about the requirement to get all my entries in and weighted before the first game, I was actually tempted to adjust my entries after the first game (which I picked incorrectly). The only thing that stopped me was learning through testikles' misfortune that this was forbidden. 4. Years ago, before Internet sites were hosting these, I once had a fantasy football admin disallow one of my week's entries. Because while I got my entry in on time, he disallowed my entry with a rule he made up on the fly, that the clock on his desk (which ran several minutes fast!) was the official clock, saying "well, I'm the admin, so I get to make those choices." Turned me away from similar contests for over a decade, until this one. I am so glad this contest is gifted with so much better an admin. My suggestion is for future contest announcements to made made more concisely, to eliminate the scroll-down issue. My suggested announcement (compare to the original in the linked post for contrast), minimizing CAPS, boldface , and color . Example: *********************** FBPP Division Playoffs Entry Form *********************** -------IMPORTANT: PLEASE USE THE ABOVE SUBJECT LINE FOR YOUR ENTRY------------------ All times listed are ESTSaturday, January 12 4:35 pm Indianapolis Colts @ Kansas City Chiefs 8:15 pm Dallas Cowboys @ Los Angeles RamsSunday, January 13 1:05 pm Los Angeles Chargers @ New England Patriots 4:40 pm Philadelphia Eagles @ New Orleans Saints Rules are the same as last week... pick 4 winning teams... assign pts. -- this week, assign 7, 5, 3, or 1 pt. to each of the winners you pick … if your picks win, you get the pts. you assigned to them...
