I have a HD 3/4 gas Chevy Short wheel base extended cab (only made them for 2 years. It is a 2006 with 60 k for miles. Never drove it in the winter and store it in Wisconsin.

I had hoped to upgrade to a duramax with the oil crisis, but only high mile beat up trucks showed up at the auctions.

I dream of a duramax GMC Denali - the nicest truck made. Theer are the King Ranch diesels , but powerstrokes are really expensive to maintain.

I need a diesel once a year when trailering a car in my enclosed trailer. For that I can run my 6.0 gas engine hard for 5,000 miles.

So I put $2,000 worth of headers and new catalytic converters on it this week. Trying to poor boy my way through a couple more years.

When/if gas ever gets expensive again would be the right time.

With the permian - not sure that will happen.

I'll buck up some time to get a 4x4 3/4 diesel- but will defer it as long as I can.

The darn things cost $55,000 to $65,000, but they are working equipment that lasts!

Might even put a gooseneck saddle on it and pull an RV.

See the USA in a GMC.

If and when you should ever want a new Chevy/GMC or Dodge Ram - holler - that's easy.

Always dreamt of seeing all the national parks - really not sure. So many dreams - so little time! LOL
