Ken, good to hear from you also, and I haven't seen anything from you for a while. I got my living ass kicked on Cymer by the ill-timed and greed-induced use of margin; mistakes which will not occur again. Now i have to start over, a chastened and perhaps somewhat more cautious investor (I make no claims on being truly wiser.) I may consult with a few more people before I do some of the things I do.
I also didn't use appropriate filters with respect to the information on these threads. I actually believed many things written here that I clearly should have been much more skeptical about.

It's hard not to be cynical about the things going on over here. I just wish I had seen the way the US Market perceives the linkage between Far Eastern markets and the US market. I had no idea there was the perception of such a strong connection. I really don't think that in the long run anything that happens here (short of a total collapse in Japan) will impact the US Economy to any significant degree, but Wall Street acts as if the end of the world is here. Martin Zweig is fond of saying that you can't fight the tape. He's right, of course, but that's what I tried to do, with disastrous results. Yet another lesson.

I am not one who feels confident shorting anything, so I'll just have to wait for all of this shit to blow over and then jump back in to semi stocks when I think the storms have passed for a while. As with my note to randy, let me know if you have a good place to put some (little) money for a while. Feel free to contact me off thread anytime.

jess.

Ken, could you post the funds positions on CYMI as of end of the year, like the one you had for Sep.30?

TIA,

Yakov
