The amount of ethnically divided ME, is too long to mention, and the animosities go back millennia. The ME was and remained a conflicted tribal region, which includes parts of N. Africa all the way to India. I do not think that the tribal approach has changed around the world, only the fact that in certain regions the tribes within a country can co-exist in peace or relative peace. One great example is the Federal Republic of Germany, to a certain extent, Romania or Ukraine and I am sure many other regions countries.

What differentiates ME mentioned above form the rest is the theology of violence embedded in the religion of Islam, and forget the concept of peace spreading religion.

Anyone familiar with the Old Testament or Hebrew Bible would realize that the issue of violence is a prevailing subject, and Islam only made it even more violent.

The crusaders that established the Kingdom of Jerusalem carried the cross but spread mayhem on the way to conquer Jerusalem and establish a kingdom from Beirut to what is today Eilat and from the Mediterranean Sea to the Golan Heights and Trans-Jordan and not by distributing sweets.

Everyone familiar with the history knows that since antiquity from the Atlantic originating in Italy and Greece to the borders of India was in turmoil and wars - at least that is what we know.
