Yes. There is some sort of "quiet" period. I'm not sure about all the ins-and-outs about this... but its the reason that I started trying to reach them back in early December: late enough that they should have some idea of how the quarter will end yet early enough that they can still chat freely. Let me note that they don't report until 2/25/98... with the report date a month away I wouldn't think they'd yet be in their quiet period. [Hmmm... maybe that's why I've been told to call back Thursday or Friday - maybe that's late enough for them to tell me that they can't comment because of the quiet period.] Let me mention that I've spoken with the IR department of another company during their quiet period and... while they couldn't respond to all my questions... they were very forthcoming -happy to provide alot of much needed information.
