Is "concommitant" a real word?

My spell checker failed to find it, nor was i able to locate it in "Webster's Dictionary."

Is it one of those Latin words that highly educated people in the legal profession use to confuse us common folk, thereby insuring that their high priced services will always be required?

From the context, i can imagine two possible meanings for "...the damned split and concommitant price decline..."

1. The split is further evidence that anyone that holds IOM for the long term should be confined to a mental institution.

2. The members of the Iomega Board of Directors who approved the split will spend eternity in a state of supreme misery, pain and discomfort.
