That's how we started... well, except that my wife fully retired at the end of the 2016 school year and I'd been cutting back at my LLC slowly since before then until I fully retired last year, but we also began withdrawing a bit... we still have 20%-30% dripping, but taking all other divvies/dist. in cash, both for dry powder as well as possible reinvestment or even opening new, small positions in other stocks on my "next man up Watch List"...

I will continue to run my business, but will be much more choosy about projects, and clients, I take on
I made the same decision last year, although I am a little older than you. Still expecting to make enough to live on, so continuing to reinvest.
