Alan, << I have no problem with Gentiles........ >> You have exposed where your misunderstanding comes from by this statement. When Gentiles are grafted into the TRUE VINE, THAT BEING THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, they automatically now become the TRUE JEW as laid out in Romans 2:28-29. The natural Jew now also has to be grafted into this vine being the Lord Jesus Christ, by believing as the Gentiles do and that is , that Jesus is the fulfiilment of the promise made to Abraham in Gen.12:1-3. The "True Israel of God" is made up of all believers both natural Jews and Gentiles. You seem to drag parts of the Old Covenant that God made with Israel into the New Covenant and try to make them fit. The roots of the Old Covenant are Abraham, Isaaic, Jacob( ISRAEL ) while the flower of this root is the Lord Jesus Christ and His Body, the Church, the "Israel" NOW of God. May God cause you to see this eternal truth. Robert
