JMD,
Excellent post! I've been following the same companies, it seems.
I remember reading about Steinbrucker in a George Gilder article
and was watering at the mouth to buy it when still private but theen
Tellabs bought 'em. Everything I read about tlab looks good except the very high PE. I keep coming back to the same line of argument
and often wonder at the mistake probably in it somewhere, i.e.,
Qcom has the patent on basicly a commodity(handsets), ANDW has alot of competition in cable manufacture, etc. Who has the PIPE? ans=LOR.
Incidentally I do own QCOM and am thinking of buying ANDW.
As an aside, as big holder of WCOM I was alarmed to read about Qwest
until I found WCOM is an investor and QWST is doing on rail lines exactly what WCOM(as LDDS then) did with gas pipes. Probably will invest in QWST as well.(Sorry for the diversion) Thanks again for the excellent post. Jim Black
