Don't you think that there are assumptions of flat to negative growth built into AMAT at the moment? IMHO, if AMAT mgt can say with any confidence whatsoever, that the next six months should be modestly up to roaring, then we should bolt higher. Please note that in my estimation mgt. saying the latter is happening is unlikely, but I do think they are weathering this better than many others in the sector, yet it is not apparent in the stock price.

I believe the next couple of months will be ones of discriminating buying of cos. like AMAT which can keep eps in line with their wide geographical backlog. This is of course to be followed with the voracious buying 8-12 mos. down the line of the entire sector when people start the transtion to 300mm and the funds begin snapping up shares faster then they dumped them last December<G>
