If the DIGITIMES report of slightly lower bit growth for the major NAND producers, leading to a 20% fall in the price of NAND flash, then it's possible to draw at least two conclusions:

1. Demand for NAND flash is highly elastic and can trigger large price reductions, or increases as demand changes.

2. A 20% drop in NAND prices would be due at least in part to lower production costs enabled by improved technology, such as 4 bits per cell and increased number of layers of 3D chips. I haven't seen any data on cost savings from technology advances, but I believe these cost savings are not considered seriously by analysts who predict sales and earnings for the group.
