"I am concerned that pot is a gateway drug to more serious things like heroine, coke, and meth"

Maybe it's the exit.

Sorry, I think you are missing what Austin Fitts is talking about. She is explaining that all the drug money in the USA is being funneled and laundered through legitimate business, and that the profits earned are so huge they are part and parcel of the American economy. The Government would not be able to run without it.

This graph here indicates this truth. Might not be accepted as the case ... but it is reality. Only when the Taliban were in control of the country did the opium shipments stop. They used to ship material out of Afghanistan as raw material, but it's now easier and more profitable to ship the finished product. The heroin labs are now at the point of manufacture in Afghanistan.

Pleople say the CIA are the bad guys for shipping all the opium, but they are just the mules. They do the job because they are told to (imho)

This one is more up to date... no marked axis though

Then there is Elizabeth Warren. Yeah, conservatives complain about her, but she is one of the few politicians who at least exposed some of the money laundering that goes on every day. HSBC is just a cover for MI6, just look at who the board has. This is all "old hat" now.

Clinton and the "boys on the tracks" has a lot of smoke around it around for a very long time. One wonders if there is any fire in there.

So is this fake news or what??

Mindmeld,
Think of the opioid crisis.
I firmly believe that the opioid crisis is connected to the movement to legalize pot.

When you destigmatize recreational drugs, don't be surprised when more and more people try the harder stuff.

P.S. - I AM for decriminalization of pot, though. It makes more sense to help the users than punish the dealers, because the former fuels demand for the latter.
