It's weird, but so far, 1 year into full retirement I seem to have less free time, not more... maybe that will settle down after I get everything settled in Mich. finally, and after we sell this house and move into a rental house or condo for our retirement years when we're here in CAL -- however, I will be establishing primary residence in Mich. to cut our property tax bill there by at least half -- believe it or not, but our property taxes (non-Mich. resident) are higher in Mich. than California... Mich. also has marginally better pension/SS taxation rules, but only by a small percentage.... still every bit helps buy another 6-pack, or bottle of wine or bourbon or scotch or vodka, etc. that I can sip on my front porch as I shake my cane at everyone telling those danged kids to get off my lawn -- though if I yell that in Mich., I may wake up in a padded room since there is no yard there, just woods around the house/cottage/cabin/whatever.
