These things I didn't know before - and I have to say it's not exactly what you call a market driven economy, then...

BTW are such price controls in place in other SEA countries as well? Maybe Tom has a something to say on Indonesia to this regard. I think in Japan, these common everyday items float freely, n'est-ce pas? (OK, but Japan has lots of import restrictions/hurdles.)
