Trump's Twitter feed this morning looks like a guy desperately trying to convince his base that he is winning. The truth of the matter is that Trump has boxed himself into an absolute no-win situation. This one in particular cracked me up. Don't get me wrong - it is just terrible that the federal government is shut down for so many reasons. But Trump shut it down and no one else (although McConnell is certainly aiding and abetting). Blackmail is blackmail, not negotiation. Trump has chosen to implode barely two years into his presidency. Let him implode. It'll be one hella costly (to the American people) cleansing of the far right.
