<What you are referring to is post-partum psychosis and perhaps its close cousin,
post-partum depression, and by no means are they limited to teen-agers.>

Holly, I think that if you will reread the posts Mephisto and I exchanged, we were both talking about the rash of young women in America who go through the birth process and then dump their live babies in the toilet, or the trash, not post-partum anything!!! These are women who are in such stages of denial of their pregnancies, out of fear of the consequences usually, that they seem to put off dealing with reality until it is too late. Then they are often charged with murder. It is a little hard to understand why this is a crime, if partial birth abortions of viable, healthy fetuses is a simple medical procedure.

Hi Holly! I've read a bit about post-partum depression.

I recall two incidents where teenagers killed their infant as soon as it was born. One woman was at a prom. She had the baby in the restroom. She threw it into the trashcan, then she returned to the dance floor.

The other incident involved a man and a woman who were in high school. I believe they were good students. The woman had the baby in a motel room. Then they put the infant in a garbage can.

In both instances, I wondered why these people refused to put their infants up for adoption if the women were unable to obtain abortions.
