Christine, The whole point of Randy Shiltts' "And the Band Played On" is that HIV/AIDS has raged out of control because of media, medical, and religious (in alphabetical order) politics and disinformation, and he makes an excellent point. The terms, late-term abortions and partial-birth abortions, are phrased in such a way as to inflame and incense anyone hearing these words. As I stated before on this thread, late-term abortion now seems to have a new definition. Again, Christine, these procedures are NOT being performed unilaterally electively, if for no other reason than physicians being acutely aware of their potential for medical malpractice liaility and for criminal prosecution. I will again state that it is my firm belief that the government has no rightful place in what is clearly a medical decision-making process. I have nothing further to say on this subject. Holly
