Thanks for the compliment! I think I've been periodically
checking into this thread since July. It certainly
has changed in that time.

Since you posted a Lehman Bros report, I assume you saw
their 1-14-98 Semi Equipment Report

lehman.com

They're predicting worldwide 1998 capital spending to
drop 1% in 1998 (an improvement over their previous
-4% prediction). Also predicting US capital
expenditures +19%, and S. Korea -36%.

Of interest in the S. Korean situation, Micron's Appleton
is supposed to be talking to the House Banking Committee
later this month about the IMF bailout. Micron still
has another dumping suit outstanding against some S. Korean
chip makers. He wants to make sure they don't sell below
cost and then get IMF bailout money.

Also -- I heard on another thread that ASML is reporting
next week.
