I'm in neither group personally. The idea that government employees work for us as individual taxpayers is not really true. They report to their agency overseen by the relevant Secretary. If you want to change how the FDA is run, the only way to do that is by getting the Executive or Legislative branches of government to act. Telling them they work for you is not likely to achieve much. Complaining about the FDA is like complaining about rain. It doesn't solve anything, just go get an umbrella.
