"it all depends on what your definition of 'addressing climate change'"

I'm more interested in what "The world is going to end" means. The sun goes nova in 12 years? All humans will be dead by 2026? stuff.co.nz Or, maybe, if I'm lucky, she is trying to say "we have 12 years to act to keep the temperature increase below 1.5 degrees", and she just needs to be more precise in her messaging. Rat thought it was too late for that when the Paris Accords set it as the target. We'll be lucky to hold it under 2 degrees....

The world’s leading climate scientists have warned there is only a dozen years for global warming to be kept to a maximum of 1.5C, beyond which even half a degree will significantly worsen the risks of drought, floods, extreme heat and poverty for hundreds of millions of people.

Carbon pollution would have to be cut by 45% by 2030 – compared with a 20% cut under the 2C pathway – and come down to zero by 2050, compared with 2075 for 2C. This would require carbon prices that are three to four times higher than for a 2C target. But the costs of doing nothing would be far higher.

"Chances are, she'll get her "green new deal" between now and the predicted "end of the world."
I hope not. She wants us totally off FF's in 10 years. The AOC Depression would be worse than Hoover's. She should hold a hearing into the logistics of producing 260M EV batteries in 10 years.
