So true. I've often wondered how it can be that the Millennials are the most highly educated generation ever, and yet, they seem to be collectively ignorant of the lessons of history. Is that what it is to be young? That the lessons of history don't apply to you, because you can overcome all the obstacles to make something like Socialism actually work? I guess the young are doomed to forever repeat the mistakes of the past and to learn the hard lessons firsthand, instead of to learn from the mistakes of their parents. Too bad. The mistake of Socialism is going to be an extremely hard lesson they will have to learn and the cost will be the freedom and prosperity of not just their generation, but for many generations to come. At least, as a Gen Xer, I lived in the last generation that had opportunity, freedom, and Capitalism as the tailwinds to my life.
