investment adviser Junius Ellis says to sell Y2k stocks for the following reasons: "My computer-hip sources contend that it's (the Y2k problem) is overblown. They say many bank and insurance computers that must deal with post-2000 dates have fixed the problem. For those that didn't, it's probably more cost-effective to upgrade to an open operating system...than to repair Cobol."
