"To be rich is glorious." Deng created a system where the relatives of communist party cadres would become China's new capitalists with the Chinese people being a slave population to be exploited.

Deng's arrangement does not really seem much different from most European dynasties. Having your own family & pals grab all the goodies is just so European History. One might call it Capitalism even. It works... If you have all the advantages, why not keep them ?

My understanding about China is that it is never been quite so expansionist or aggressive in terms of commerce then European countries.

I just seen some news that Alex Salmond, former First Minister for Scotland has been arrested. No other news as yet.

================================================================================

Alex Salmond, the former first minister of Scotland, has been arrested by police and will appear in court on Thursday afternoon.

Salmond has been under investigation by Police Scotland following a confidential investigation by the Scottish government into allegations by two women that he sexually harassed them several years ago. The Scottish government sent their final report to police in August last year.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm a 64-year-old man has been arrested and charged and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.”

I wonder if he was trying to make a run for the Ecuadorian Embassy? He must of had some people in positions of influence who didn't like him much. From some of the rumours I have heard, the Houses of Parliament need to turned into a jail for sex offenders.

Just have a really important "brexit resolution vote" so they all turn up (for once) and just lock em all up. We have the trials later at Westminster Abbey, I am sure the Dean of Westminster Abbey won'd mind the property being used for such an important matter of State.
