I think Steve may have been joking regarding the SEC fee.

Morpher and Robert,

Actually, I was referring to the assessment to sell side transactions. To be honest, I haven't looked at the exact percentages and I can't remember the last time I looked at a confirmation, but I will check with my backoffice. About 18 months ago, the SEc censured the NASD 100 million for lack of supervision, collusion etc. It was a tremendous report that was "big" news then. Remember, it will never be huge news since the large firms won't promote it. Who will promote it? the routers, the electronic firms, no way. simply threads like this. You won't hear about it on channel 5 news. Maybe on cnbc for 20 seconds...who are thebig advertisers on those stations?

Anyway, I am not sure of the exact percentages or this percentage that you refer to as having been there for decades. But, trying to summon my long term memory skills, I remember there NOT being a sales charges on any of my trades, I recall teh censure and the fine,, then I recall notices by the NASD that they would be adding a small % (you're number looks close) to cover it.

I will look into and let you know...but yes, this is what I meant, I think I am correct.

Regards,
Steve
