A bit of background about the post you are replying to...and I should have made it clear ahead of time. Terry Pratchett wrote social satire disguised as fantasy books. He was very witty and intelligent. I was an early fan and met him before he got to be famous. He once commented that writing fantasy books is like riding a stationary bike; it doesn't get you anywhere, but it does get you to exercise your brain.

Ok - now on to your comments: I certainly agree with and it does always make me wonder how someone can claim to be a follower of that gigantic social liberal and be part of the right wing. But then again, the evangelicals are made up of only 2 groups: conmans and the conned...may be that is where the "con" in conservative comes from :-/

BTW, I am not sure that a lot of religions are based on the Bible. This is certainly true in the West, but there a hundreds of religions, if not thousands that have nothing to do with Christianity. And even when you combine Jews, Christians, and Muslims all together they are still a minority of the total human population.
