There will be an event -
The main point being PREPARE is not a question though. An ancillary point would be the security of your preparations. So location is the first consideration.
Food, water, heat, shelter - redundant backups.Mobility-temporary "bug-out" location to avoid short-term unexpected events (likely associated with population density or extreme storm damage -wind , hail, flood etc)
Don't locally advertise level of preparedness.
Try to prepare in a way that you could also help a few (or more) other people.
There will come a day...probably a single day...when some kind of GSM induced shtf event/events brings the full new script into play. That may be locally, regionally or over a wider scope.
Until that time, as you prepare, maintain your life as has been "normal" so far. There's no reason not to do that. Enjoy all the things you currently do.(Unless you conclude that relocation is your start point. Then, after relocating...continue as "normal").
