1)T.M.'s move has many benefits for nn. (better quality people)
2)It is his money, not nn
3)He is creating what can be termed critical mass in ottawa hi-tec
4)nn and all other co's in the area will all benefit. (should they all pay for some of these new digs. Hotel, golf course...(i think not however let the man do what he may with the cash that is his)
5)the more interesting things going on at nn might be contracts with
att, ntt... future dev of the 170 and 190... the ub story... earnings... new ipo's of the aff... the relationship with 3com???
...support of the stock is it $28 us or $22 us

Any ideas, comments
Regards
Glenn

Larry, he lost 2 billion dollars on paper during this recent price collapse. I'm sure that got his attention...

His personal fortune is heavily staked on Newbridge's success. So in reality his compensation (that is, the variation in his net worth) is very much tied to NN's operating performance. I think it's good that he's not giving himself piles of incentive stock options. He knows he doesn't need them.

I have a couple of issues to address:

1. Mr. Matthews is a strong proponent of performance related compensation. I believe that Newbridge does not pay a cash bonus, but stock options only (Walter please confirm). Matthews is way beyond the "NNC for Profit" stage, he wants to shape the technology going forward and make NN and ATM the standard.

2. The notion that technical trading NN is profitable is weak. If NN warns analysts early in February that they will miss targets then it will go down.

3. Employees of companies are not allowed to hedge positions in the company of the stock that they work for. Particularly insiders.

This stock is volatile and will be prone to lagging performance like we are seeing currently. It also will be prone to violent upswings over a period of time.
