Hi jack!

Thanks so much for extracting the meat from the Barrons discussion.

After my hurried reading I could hardly trust my impression--but if this represents a shift in mood for the country, Lord God!

Sometimes consensus is correct.

There really has been--as has been said ad infinitum--a fifteen or sixteen-year bull market, maybe even since 1974. It ain't natural.

Hey Jack, since you seem to be a fan of the 'Investment Biker',let me ask you this, wasn't he a big proponet of investing in international markets or was it emerging market in particular, and natural resources? I wonder whether he foresaw any of this Asian problems? I am trying to see how good his analysis is. Thanks.

Thanks for the interesting post.

Perkins said, "my guess is that this bear market will last several years. The range this time, I'd guess, will be 4000 - 7500"

Is he saying that the market will trade somewhere in the indicated range? Now, there's a helpful prediction - NOT.

Best wishes,

I2

Jack, too bearish for my taste, I do not like to find myself in the majority, where were these people in September, when I was singing that song? I think that they have their reasons for the near term decline wrong (that falacy about dicvidend rates of 1.4 to 1.6%, is ridiculous, it is more like 4% to 5% dividend yield and growing unlike the yield of 5.75% on treasuries which is not growing. Yet, short term and for the next five, six months, my turnips are still showing a down market, they do not like a lot of company but what can I do?
