Gold opens down.

Kitco has gold down -2.10 overseas @ 8:00 pm est.

Anybody want to take a shot at the reason and make predictions for the week?

It was a nice run last week. Wonder if was just another fun twist in the ride....

Tom:
there is a rumor that Libya asked for another meeting to cut the
quota..also in Korea now that gas has doubled..that probably also
has caused the pessimism..I stopped getting Barrons because it was filled with disinformation..I don't know if it was intentional or not..
Drilling activity has picked up in the last couple of years and many
people have said that oil runs in long cycles..and we have just come
out of the long down cycle. I was bullish three years and then
got impatient..I keep on asking myself why now are corporations spending massive amounts of money in exploration?
Don't understand why the USA doesn't help with the tar sands and become less reliant on what happens in middle east.
So many people are bullish on natural gas as more and more emphasis
is being placed on environment..
I wish things were just black and white..(since I don't believe the
numbers the government puts out on inflation..from first hand experience I tend to have a negative, very negative, bias on all their
numbers. I guess they know the importance of perception and probably
hope they will come up with a fix down the road...ie stressing the
budget surplus and ignoring the massive debt..
