kjude, ZIP becoming a standard, if not already, but we don't need this (also copied from the Yahoo Syquest thread):

My first time on this thread, work for a very large aerospace company. Our individual group comprised of about 30 engineer's has many custom development and dem/val pc based systems which employ, in total, about 60 Zip and 30 Jaz drives and no Syquest units. I used to own IOM stock but sold after we had so many problems with our Jaz units. Am now long in Syquest. The adage about the "golden handcuffs" is so true - that is, we are not going to dump our Jaz units for Syuest's since we
are now quite pregnant with them. However, we are very interested in the Quest unit and will order some ASAP. Given our company's clout I would expext to get some units before they become generally available. If they pan-out, will then most likely evolve from the Zip/Jaz to Quest. Will be checking for decent MTBF and flight ruggedness of these units - can't be any worse than Jaz's which we fly (with our fingers crossed) on a regular basis.
