I thought it may be interesting to list the activity over that period. Note, Monday 1/12/98 was the turning point for the freefalling oils. Focusing on the oil and gas producers, the group was down 167.47 points on top of the 909.16 points lost the previous week. At that point, the group had lost a total of 1076.63 points, or 18.4% since we began trading in 1998. However, by the end of the day, the group had recovered to post a gain of 60.08 points. Monday's swing amounted to 227.55 points. Also worth noting is weekly volume from week to week. The TSE 300 was about the same as in the previous week. However, the volume in the oils was substantially higher. * New High or New Low B-H-S = Buy - Hold - Sell ** Strong Buy Best viewed by "Remove Navigation". *Report dated 01/9/98 contained an error. The Close for the TSE 300 should of read 6272.43, rather than 6711.38.
