TopCat,
My taxes decreased by 16.6%
Shep has nothing to worry about. The likely increase in my taxes should more than make up for your tax cut.

He can continue riding on the guvmint gravy train without worry.

Hey TopCat, my tax accountant just finished the returns for me and my wife.

Although our tax situation changes drastically from one year to the next, we ended up paying a lower rate overall in 2018 compared to 2017.

And this is despite the tax hikes that were supposed to hurt the "blue states" the most, like the limits on SALT and mortgage interest deductions.

Too bad many taxpayers are so stupid, they think they ended up paying more taxes overall because of their lower refunds. (FYI, my wife and I ended up owing tax for FY2018 vs. a refund that we got for FY2017, but as I mentioned above, our tax situation is volatile.)
