Actually, Nokia paid approx $121M for Ipsilon (not "the less than $100M paid for Ipsilon" you mention)... Also, CS had signed for a $20M investment in Ipsilon, but this was conditional upon various terms and it's doubtful that they actually spent the full $20M given the recent buyout of Ipsilon by Nokia.

To me the deal represents only 6 million shares. 6 million shares to jump start your company is a small price to pay.

The best deal they did was the DEC deal (regarding price)
