AMD has already sounded the alarm that cash is running low.

That sounds terrible for AMD, doesn't it? However, it depends on how their improve their K6 yield from .25u process. If they could make a smooth switch from .35u to .25u, AMD could sell every chips that they could make. Then, AMD would rock.

AMD is fighting with Intel on main stream desktops. NSM is working in a different direction to expand the sub-$500 computing appliance market. This is the biginning of 1998 and is quite hard to make visionery investment decision now as lots of things could happen later.
