Mathon, sorry, i tried to construct my sentence so the events mentioned are a coinsidence. i had a few dinner conversations with several SGI executives 1992-1996, brought together by other SGI persons who wanted me to confront them with what i found absurd. did SGI get into the Time Warner Orlando thing with very shortsighted goals, knowing the whole thing was madness? i think so. was the A/W purchase a setup, concocted from the day SGI bailed out Alias and installed Rob Burgess? i think so. i see the field folks getting their cues from MtView, and i see the field folks i deal with in the same head. morale is low, SGI has ridden through some tough times drunk on hubris, and hubris has served them well. i suppose the healthy SGI that emerges will be more "integrated" and it's personality will be more comfortable with quarter to quarter truth. yeah, i think a Roel Piper would be a great choice, he's been through some strange incarnations, and he seems to have weathered them well. no i don't think much of TJ or Ramsey, it was on their watch that a few individuals got reputations for honesty and forthrightness. when a few stand out like that, times are scary.
