Yen and I were in Luang Prabang, Laos...

We were walking along, behind us were a French woman and Laotian man speaking English. She said she loved Laos because it was still free from obnoxious Americans. I turned and said “it sounds like the French still dominate that market here”... she turned beet red, and I just laughed.

Yen said that was very mean... oh well, I am an American.

+++English speaking Filipinos makes meeting people and getting along perhaps easier than in Latin America.+++

Defnitely for people limited to English. Of course if one speaks Spanish and Portuguese, that enables Iberia, most or all of Latin America and a portion of Africa.
