Kind of a variation of my "favorite" sports betting ploy. Email, say, a half million people that team A is your guaranteed lock to win this week. "Hedge" that by telling an equal number that team A's opponent is your lock. At the end of week one, you'll have the attention of 500K people. Do the same for week two, which now leaves you with 250K people fooled into thinking you are 2-0. You'll have 125K who consider you 3-0, then 62,500 who have you at 4-0. If 10% pay you just $100 for a trial subscription, that's $625,000. Random chance says you should go 50% from then on, which equates to 10-6 for the entire football season. Not bad... from the point of view of your customer. And it's all legal. - Jeff
