I can assure you that the Green New Deal is NOT the wet dream of conservatives. I think if it was implemented, it would represent the largest waste of money in the history of mankind and will impoverish hundreds of millions of people in the process. Capitalism has a nearly perfect record of being better at choosing the new technologies that win in the long run. Socialism has a nearly perfect record of being technologically regressive and a nearly perfect record of impoverishing the people who have the misfortune of living through it. A conservative's wet dream is to let the free market decide which technologies win and eliminate all subsidies for oil, gas, renewables, and everything else.
