If by "bb's" you mean brokers, there are others such as Datek A.B. Watley, DLJ, etc. Just review the threads.

I thought ameritrade gave you choice of phone or internet.

DLJ Direct does BB's, thought not as inexpensively as others. 7000 shares BAAT = $98. Fairly good executions.

Charles Schwab does it on the web though not cheap.
But you pay for quality.
Excellent executions- usually within seconds. In fact
you can see your bid become the bid almost instantly
(of course-if you 1-up the bid that is there) using
the real time quotes they have.
