While I grant that the public is interested in our First Lady, Ginsburg has a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the nation, the Supreme Court, and should she be forced to step down because of health issues, or if she passes away, With a contract such as a lifetime appointment it would seem that it would be voided and as such she should resign on event that she passes away. However there are verified methods by which she could serve, such as via channeling or communing as demonstrated by the recent presidential election competitor Hillary Clinton (who regularly channels Eleanor Roosevelt) or via proven technological devices such as the Ouiji board.
