The answer is not until the public lose confidence in the wisdom of the corporations.

To run the country as they see fit. This only happened once in American history, in 1929-32. The public was ready to revolt. Even then it took a certified Blue Blood to reform the system.

Gates is as untouchable as tens of billions can get you. IBM thinks they can use him while he uses them. The smaller companies know better than to cross a monopoly in power. Until GE is threatened the way Novell is, NADA.

In fact look at Novell. Haven't you said yourself that Novell trys to avoid messing with the gorilla.

The gorilla can only be handled by another gorilla, and the industry let this one get too big.
